Introduction to Playbook

When you are a Flight Explorer customer with Airspace Flow Manager (AFM) as a feature, you will be able to utilize the Playbook. You may already be familiar with the FAA Playbook. The Playbook within the AFM feature provides all of the information the FAA Playbook plus:

• Uses your fleet in the output
• Ability to perform What-If modeling
• Calculate Great Circle Distance
• Route Distance
• Burn Rate

You may be familiar with using the FAA Playbook to update your information about new routes. With the Playbook Analyzer tool in the AFM, you can analyze the FAA information against your fleet for planned and flights already in the air. This allows you to use one tool to help make a decision and quickly file a new route if you need.
