Creating a User Defined View
- Select a geographical area and all desired attributes.
- Turn on overlays for the view by using View Settings and/or the Overlay toolbar.

- Click Create View (CTRL + C) on the
Main toolbar.
- Enter the new view name and click OK to save or Cancel to exit without changes.
- Open the view by selecting from the Quick
View bar at left, or by clicking Select View on the Main toolbar.
Create a Public View
- Set the FE.ini file to [Paths] UDViewPublic (path to shared User Defined View file). This designates the drive that the shared view file will reside.
- Return to the map display.
- Select a geographical area and all desired attributes.
- Turn on overlays for the view by using View Settings and/or the Overlay toolbar. (Overlay Toolbar)
- ClickCreate View (CTRL + C) on the Main toolbar.
- Click the Add to Share checkbox. This view is saved to a predetermined drive (see Step #1 above).
- Enter the new view name and click OK to save or Cancel to exit without changes.
- Open the view by selecting from the Quick View bar at left, by clicking Select View on the Main toolbar, or by selecting it from the new shared drive.
Edit a User Defined View Name
- Select Manage Views from the View menu.
- Select the view to be edited.
- Click Edit Selected View Name .
- Change the view name.
- Click OK to save changes.
Update a User Defined View
- Select Manage Views from the View menu.
- Select the view to be updated.
- Click Update Selected View with Environment.
- Click OK to save changes.
Or
- Open the view by selecting from the Quick View bar, or by clicking Select View on the Main toolbar.
- Select the view by name.
- Then click Update View (CTRL + U) on the Main toolbar.
Delete a User Defined View
- Select Manage Views from the View
menu.
- Select the view to be deleted.
- Click Delete Selected View and the view is deleted.
- Click OK to save changes.
Recommended View Usage
- Create a view named "Template" (as described above in Create a User Defined View) with the most common settings and selections.
- Select "Template" to create a new view.
- Make changes to "Template".
- Save "Template" with a new name to create a new view.
This method allows you to quickly include common settings and selections in new views without entering them each time.
