4D Modeling

4D Modeling is a server based feature that uses route algorithms to calculate aircraft position including altitude and time at 1 mile increments along the flight plan. “Fly the Flight Plan” uses advanced algorithms to project the location of a flight in the absence of real position reports. These algorithms use the flight’s route as well as other airspace and weather input data. Any flight that has not sent a report within 5 minutes is then projected and the flight will continue to be projected every 5 minutes until real position reports are received.

4D logic is continually enhanced with additional criteria that affect air space. This is done independent to client releases as the function resides on a server and is seamlessly integrated with no visual cues to the user.

These advanced algorithms are also used to generate alerts when a route is changed for ETE or distance beyond a user defined threshold.
