Filter Toolbar
Quickly define a Plane filter for the current view using the Filter Toolbar.
The aircraft ID field will accept a full aircraft ID or partial aircraft ID and the wild card character: * (the asterisk). For example, an aircraft ID entry of ‘USA841’ will display only the flight with aircraft ID equal to ‘USA841’. An aircraft ID entry of ‘USA*’ will display all aircraft whose aircraft ID begins with ‘USA’. An aircraft ID entry of '*AB' will display all flights whose aircraft ID ends with AB. |
|
The origin field will accept a 3 or 4 character (FAA or ICAO) airport ID. |
|
The destination field will accept a 3 or 4 character (FAA or ICAO) airport ID. |

Notes
- Whenever a new View is selected, if there is a filter defined in the Plane filters window, it will populate the appropriate fields in the Filter Toolbar with the first filter from the Plane filters window.
- A blank field is ignored (not compared).
- Setting a blank filter (via the button or the ENTER key) in the Filter toolbar will clear filters.
- Origin and destination fields default to using the entered ID and the alternate FAA/ICAO ID.
- Origin and destination must be a three or four letter airport ID. For example: ‘Origin=DFW, Destination=ORD’ will show all aircraft departing from DFW and arriving at ORD. All fields in the Quick Filter are AND’ed together. To OR the Origin and destination fields you must define the filter using the Planes User Defined View settings dialog, or change the default Filter toolbar behavior in the Options>User Defined View dialog.
- When the "Enter"key is used after inputting criteria in any of the Filter toolbar fields, the "Set plane filter" will be applied. This is the same as if you had pressed the "Set plane filter" button on the Filter toolbar with a click of the mouse.
- Any filters defined in the Filter Toolbar are actually added to the full filter list in the Planes Filter User Defined View settings dialog. Any filters defined using the Filter Toolbar are not saved in User Defined Views but must be saved manually.
