Managing Latitude Longitude

You can use the Latitude/longitude window to manage the view of latitude and longitude on the map. The Latitude/Longitude overlay shows high resolution latitude and longitude lines of 1/100 degree. This also supports the ARINC lat/lon format. When zooming, the latitude/longitude lines automatically adjust to scale.

To open the Latitude / Longitude window

  1. Click the View Settings icon on the Main toolbar, User Defined View Settings (CTRL + V) on the View menu.
  2. Click Latitude/Longitude, or the down arrow on the Latitude/Longitude Overlay icon on the Overlay toolbar, then Lat/Lon View Settings.

To Activate Latitude / Longitude

The overlay must be enabled first by clicking the Show Latitude/Longitude Overlay check box in User Defined View Settings -> Latitude/Longitude or by clicking the down arrow on the Latitude/ongitude Overlay icon on the Overlay Toolbar, then selecting Lat/Lon View Settings.

To turn on the Latitude/Longitude overlay, click the Latitude/Longitude Overlay icon on the Overlay toolbar, or select Latitude / Longitude (ALT + L) on the Overlays menu.

To Find Latitude / Longitude

The Latitude/Longitude feature is one of the tools made available for use in the display area to easily determine latitude and longitude anywhere on the map.

ClosedUsing the Toolbar

  1. Click Lat / Lon on the Cursor toolbar.
  2. Move the mouse cursor anywhere on the map. The latitude and longitude appear in a box to the right of the cursor.
  3. Click Esc or click to exit the Lat / Lon mode.

ClosedUsing the Keyboard

Move the mouse cursor anywhere on the map and ALT-click.
