Managing Plane Views
You can use the Plane window to manage the planes that appear on the map.
To Activate a Plane View
The overlay must be enabled first by clicking the Show Plane Overlay check box in User Defined View Settings -> Planes or by clicking the drop-down arrow on the Plane Overlay icon on the Overlay Toolbar, then selecting Plane View Settings -> Planes.
To turn on the Planes overlay, click the Plane Overlay icon on the Overlay toolbar, or select Planes (ALT + P) on the Overlays menu.
To Activate Plane Tags
Hold the mouse cursor over a plane icon and the plane tag momentarily displays or right-click the plane icon and select Show Tag to have the tag remain on-screen.
Reposition an Aircraft Tag
- Move the mouse cursor over an aircraft icon or symbol.
- Right-click, hold, and drag the tag to a new position.
Note Enable AutoTag must be turned off in Plane Tags -> Tag Properties, so that tags can be moved manually.
Tag Lines
Tag Lines are informational characteristics for an aircraft, airport, or weather product. Customize and select up to 6 lines with 1 or 2 characteristics at any time in any combination. Each tag line has 4 components; two text boxes marked Label and two drop-down menus marked field. These lines are always displayed in order from top to bottom. At least one line MUST be enabled or active. Each line may contain up to 50 characters. When "Route Text" is selected, the buffer limit is 1000 characters and the field limit is 500 characters.
- Open User Defined Views -> Planes -> Plane Tags/3D.
- Determine the line(s) that will be active by selecting the leading checkbox.
- Enter a title for each field, that has meaning to you, in the Label column.
- Select the characteristic from the drop-down menu.
