You can use the Flight Details to view information about the flight.

To open the Flight Details window

  1. Right-click a plane.
  2. Find Flight Details at the top of the menu and click.
    The Flight Details window appears.

Item

Description

Aircraft ID

Aircraft identifier. Click the small arrow to display Lookup / Go To. This contains information about the airline and/or company to which this aircraft belongs.

Altitude

Altitude of the aircraft in hundreds of feet.

  • T - temporary altitude
  • C - mode C altitude
  • B - altitude block
  • ### - the aircraft’s assigned altitude. Reported if the mode C altitude reported by the aircraft’s transponder is less than 200 feet from its assigned altitude.
  • ###C – the mode C altitude reported by the aircraft’s transponder. Reported if the mode C altitude is more than 200 feet from its assigned altitude.
  • ###T - the altitude to which an aircraft has been cleared; it is proceeding toward this altitude but has not yet reached it. There may be a series of temporary altitudes.
  • ###B### - a block of altitudes for which an aircraft has been assigned. The first is the lower altitude and the second the upper, where upper and lower limits are allowed.
  • OTP/### – on-top clearance. The flight can, within certain limits, be anywhere at or above the specified altitude.

Speed

Speed of the aircraft relative to the surface of the earth (ground speed) displayed in knots. The current tracking speed.

Origin

Originating airport ID. Click the small arrow to display Lookup / Go To.

Destination

Destination airport ID. Click the small arrow to display Lookup / Go To.

Dest alt

Alternate destination if the data is available. Click the small arrow to display Lookup / Go To.

Aircraft Type

Aircraft type ID. Click the small arrow to display Lookup / Go To.

Scratch pad

Up to 15 characters of text appear on line 4 of the plane tag. 3rd party applications can send basic information with each aircraft ID/Tail#. "T" and "L" tail number prefixes are now recognized as an "N" number throughout Flight Explorer.

Position History

The latest reported Latitude and Longitude positions, Altitude, Speed, Time, and Source. See Fonts/Formats for Latitude/Longitude display information.

  • Time- The valid time of each position report associated with Source.
  • Source - This information comes from FE, Projected FE, or 3PDI data. 3PDI source provider names and ID's are listed when there are less than 1,000 entries and with ID only for 1,000 or greater entries.
  • Latitude - The last reported latitude of the aircraft.
  • Longitude - The last reported longitude of the aircraft.
  • Altitude - The last reported altitude of the aircraft.
  • Speed - The last reported speed of the aircraft.
  • FOB - The last reported fuel on board of the aircraft.

Route

The flight plan route text for this plane. Click the “Get Route” button to retrieved data from Flight Explorer. See Flight Plan and Route Flown for more information.
