The Ribbon Bar provides the user interface of an application with a large toolbar filled with graphical representations of control elements which are grouped by different functionality. The Ribbon can be organized into tabs to expose different sets of functionality based on the context the user is working in thus eliminating the need for a lot of different icon-based tool bars. The Ribbon Bar GUI consists of a Quick Access Toolbar (QAT), a tab row that contains the application menu and contextual tabs, and the ribbon command bar.
Quick Access Toolbar |
The Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) is a small, customizable toolbar that exposes a set of Commands that are specified by the application or selected by the user. See Quick Access Toolbar for more information. |
Tab Row |
The Tab Row consists of an Application Menu and a set of contextual tabs associated with specific Flight Explorer features or functionality:
Note This feature requires explicit authorization for Airspace Flow Manager.
|
Ribbon Command Bar |
The Ribbon Command Bar contains all of the functional command items organized into Groups. The groups serve no functional purpose but serve to organize the content of the ribbon. Any of the command items can be added to the QAT by simply right-clicking on them and selecting "Add to Quick Access Toolbar" |
Minimizing the Ribbon Command Bar
The Ribbon Command bar can be minimized, leaving only the tab row and QAT, thus maximizing the visibility of the Flight Explorer map. The bar can be minimized by the following 3 methods:
- Double-clicking on any of the tabs in the Tab row
- Right-clicking the QAT menu and selecting "Minimize the Ribbon"
- Right-clicking on any command and selecting "Minimize the Ribbon"
