Managing the Alert Systems

Flight Explorer provides a full suite of alert methods to keep you informed of any and all events affecting your fleet. The Flight Alert System and Weather Alert System are packaged together to provide as much information as possible for up-to-the minute, accurate event reporting.

Alert Systems

Alerts and Events

Events are activities such as aircraft departure, ETA change, weather conditions, etc. Alerts provide a convenient way to notify users when specific events have occurred using various notification methods. Below are lists of event and alert types.

Types of Alerts

Event Log

events can be written to a log file. See Log File Settings.

Event List

events can be displayed in the Event list. See Event List Settings.

Voice

events can be spoken via a synthesized voice. See Voice Settings.

E-Mail

events can be sent to an e-mail address, cell phone, window, etc. See E-Mail Settings.

Sound

events can play a sound on the computer when set up in the Control Panel. See Sound / WAV Settings.

Plane/Airport Zoom

automatically centers and zooms to an aircraft or airport that has generated an event. See Plane/Airport Zoom Settings.

Plane Tag

stores the latest event information in the plane's tag field and turns the tag on (optional). See Plane Tag Settings.

Plane Marker

automatically displays a marker around or under a plane that has generated an event. See Plane Marker Settings.

Plane Color

overrides the default state/filter based plane color when a particular event occurs. See Plane Color Settings.
